Tag Archives: photographer I’ve been excited to share this shoot with you for a little while. A few weekends ago I was shooting in Santa Barbara, California. One of my shoots was an incredibly gorgeous, kind-hearted, and talented fellow photographer, named Brit Mann and her charming and helpful photo-assisting husband, Grant. They are expecting the arrival of what-is-sure-to-be an amazingly gorgeous baby girl. I felt really honored to photograph them during such a special time.

Oh man. I knew these were going to be beautiful, but honestly they’ve taken my breath away. Thanks for letting me help out for the day and meet this truly amazing couple (even though my light disc skills are sub-par, I am a primo location picker, right?).

The dress IS from Anthro, and all I did was move up a button on the halter to allow the midsection seam to sit above my belly. Thanks for the compliment Jody!

Thank you, Megan. I think it might have been anthropologie as I happened to see something that looked similar. It’s not a maternity dress. Brit, correct me if I’m wrong! Oh my wow. Sarah, these are insanely amazing. I’m seriously in love with this set. The color, light, connection is so rad. Keep up the awesome.  Aside from a few friends, I don’t follow many children’s portrait photographers. Most of my inspiration comes from the fine art world and oftentimes the editorial/advertising world (I’m a sucker for colorful, fun, and evocative images). I really admire Stephanie Rausser’s work (a few below). She’s a San Francisco/Sonoma based photographer who makes magical stuff....  If you’ve been following me on twitter, you’ll remember that I was super excited to be photographing the Great-granddaughter of the Gerber baby. I was so thrilled to finally meet little Cora Margarita on Labor Day. Cora and her family were so much fun during our walk on top of Bernal Hill and so incredibly helpful. Grandma took a few photos of me in action with the help of at least four assistants (1. baby talker 2. baby spotter 3. first assistant with light reflector 4. baby’s personal assistant). I will hopefully be sharing the full post soon including some shots of us in action.  What better way to thank all the wonderful kids and families we photographed this year than with music, complimentary family photos, prizes, and cupcakes!
