Simple. Lovely. Brit & Grant, Santa Barbara | modern portrait photographer, California

I’ve been excited to share this shoot with you for a little while. A few weekends ago I was shooting in Santa Barbara, California. One of my shoots was an incredibly gorgeous, kind-hearted, and talented fellow photographer, named Brit Mann and her charming and helpful photo-assisting husband, Grant. They are expecting the arrival of what-is-sure-to-be an amazingly gorgeous baby girl. I felt really honored to photograph them during such a special time.

Brit - The dress IS from Anthro, and all I did was move up a button on the halter to allow the midsection seam to sit above my belly. Thanks for the compliment Jody!

allison + keith, sneak peek | modern belly and baby photographer, san francisco

This weekend I was reminded how much I like simple, straight portraits. No fancy angles, clever props or juxtapositions, just pure, simple, straight portraits. I should say it helps to have a subject who is incredibly natural in front of the camera. Allison and her husband Keith were just that. I rarely had to ask them to do anything and shooting in the comfort of their gorgeously lit home made it even easier.
