location scouting, sonoma | commercial kids photographer, san francisco

Sometimes I have to pinch myself living in a place like San Francisco. We have such amazing access to a diverse array of locations within a few hours of the city. I have shot all over San Francisco from our beaches to chinatown to the greenery in Golden Gate Park. However, just outside of San Francisco you can find anything from dirt roads, treacherous cliffs, black sand beaches, quaint farms, dusty old towns, kitschy motels, and much more. Yesterday, I went on a quick scouting mission to Sonoma and found a few non-descript locations for my shoot on Sunday.

First, a very big thank you to everyone who came out to Crissy Field on Saturday for our picnic! We had such a perfect day for a party. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than giving back a little to all of my wonderful clients from the past year+. Thank you all very much for allowing me to do a job that I absolutely love!

Cynthia - What outrageously awesome pics from Sat! The weather was perfect and you def showed us a good time. The moustaches, cameras, painting, snacks, and prizes were a huge hit with Sid and Chloe. Thank you so much for the invite. We loved seeing all the people in your photos in “real life.”

Mateo’s slideshow: at home and on location, Land’s End | San Francisco modern kids photographer

Just a quick post to share Mateo’s slideshow. I had a really lovely time with this family first shooting at home then taking a walk along the Land’s End trail that overlooks the GGB. Every time I look at Mateo I smile, how handsome. My favorites to follow.

Five reasons your family needs a Sunday Morning session: Sneak Peek | Bay Area Portrait Photographer

Yesterday I started my morning with a lovely drive down 280 to Los Altos Hills where I had the pleasure of spending the morning with a really wonderful family. We did the Sunday Morning session which is my absolute favorite type of family session. Sunday Morning sessions are a little longer than normal lasting between...

Joe - sheez… If you keep booking these Sunday Morning Sessions, I fear my new routine will be that of ‘lonely husband hanging at local coffee shop consoling mopey dog’…

Sarah - You forgot the part where Otis eats all of Matt’s socks and a few dozen uncooked eggs and has to go to the emergency VET! Ha, just kidding! Thanks for the comment, Tara!

August 3, 2009 - 11:04 am

Tara Dees - Sunday mornings are the best! All week I am dreaming of these few wonderful hours – definitely my favorite of the whole week. I love to wake up super early and make a cup of tea, make a light and yummy breakfast – poached eggs for me and the hubby loooves blueberry/banana pancakes. We try to get to the Santa Barbara farmer’s market as early as possible to beat the crowd and get the best looking produce, always buying extra berries because we tend to eat a whole pint before we get get home. Then it’s off to the dog beach and the plant store and we usually spend the day hanging out in the yard tending the veggie garden and reading. Ahhhh….6 more days till Sunday.
I think the Sunday morning sessions are a really great idea Sarah. A great way to capture a family doing what they love the most!
