Hey there!

I’m excited to tell you that I’m speaking at Alt this year. I went to this conference last year and absolutely loved it. It’s not really geared towards photographers actually and that’s partly why I wanted to go – sometimes we photographers need a break from the insularity of the photo world. I learned so much about my business, felt incredibly inspired, and I made many a million great connections. I would encourage everyone from bloggers to photographers to small-business owners to consider attending. You can sign up here.

I’m on a panel about blogging ethics and will be speaking from a photographer’s vantage. I’ll also be hanging with the Visual Supply Co. team who are currently tearing it up with my rebrand. We’re launching just before Alt (fingers crossed)!

Sarah - Hillary! It’s totally awesome for someone just like you. Actually, you would probably get more value out of it than an experienced blogger. There are lots of basics of blogging classes related to getting sponsors, ethical posting, even photo classes, etc. It’s a ton of fun. If you want to go you could room with me! Let me know asap though. Also, we were literally (awake) in Chicago for about eight hours. We just stopped in to see a new baby girl and had lunch then boarded another plane to the east coast. I didn’t even get to see my Chicago bestie who I haven’t seen in a year! Sorry bud, next time we are there longer you will be the first to know!

Hillary - Is Alt. just for people already doing / pursuing blogging or small businesses? I’m currently just a fan-girl of all of the people who’d be attending. I craft and design as much as most of them – I just don’t put fingers to keyboard…yet.

I’m wondering if I’d be way out of place or if it’d be inspirational and educational. (not sure I can afford it, anyway…)

p.s. you didn’t call when you were here. BOO.

Wow. It’s been busy. I hope you’re doing great and gearing up for the holidays (oh my!).

We’ve been busy doing lots of holiday shoots, some fun lifestyle shoots, and I’m producing a gigantic ranch shoot this Sunday in Healdsburg. I can hardly wait! Oh and did I mention we’ve got a fun event coming up with Heath Ceramics in Sausalito and Los Angeles – don’t miss this!

Also, we brought back mini-sessions for a limited time only. I’ll be posting a few more details but essentially these are 30 minutes sessions, perfect for holiday cards and gifts and we’re doing both on-location (Golden Gate Park and Crissy Field) as well as in-studio at a really great price! Finally, isn’t this the most lovely and colorful family? I just adore them.

Hi there!

It’s been busy over here. I’m so excited for SEEING SMALL coming up in just a few weeks. I’m also moving studios, producing a few quick kids shoots, and working on a redesign – lots of fun stuff.

Enjoy this quick shoot of Lucas and his lovely family at the Oakland Museum. How great are his pants/leggings? Have you been to this Museum? The light in front of the chalkboard wall is amazing…and so are the exhibits. Thanks so much Lisa! It was great to see you guys.

Happy Friday to you! I’m really excited to announce that I’ve partnered with an incredibly talented children’s photography, Carrie Cook of urban baby / LA on a unique, kids photography workshop held here in San Francisco on Sunday, October 23rd with a welcome dinner the night before.

We have an amazing workshop planned. Have you seen the house? It’s magical. We also brought on board a fabulous creative business consultant, Rena Tom to help round out the experience. We’ve designed something that we would want to attend ourselves. Go find a flight and join us!
