Hello there. I’ve been on the road for a little over a week (apologies if you’re waiting to hear from me). I’ve had a little family time mixed with a few really special shoots. One in particular was baby Whistler in Chicago. Whistler’s parents are dear friends of mine (and the husband) and we have been so happy to welcome him to the world. I can’t wait to share more!

Thanks, Edyta! The luggage was already in Lezlie’s living room. They’ve had those great suitcases for years. I love finding existing props rather than sourcing them for family shoots in particular.

I’m playing catch-up today after being out of the studio for five days but I had to share a few images from our shoot with Dwell Magazine at DwellonDesign, Los Angeles, 2010. We were a part of the Modern Family Zone and photographed close to 200 kids and families. Enjoy a few of my favorites....

I’ve been excited to share this shoot with you for a little while. A few weekends ago I was shooting in Santa Barbara, California. One of my shoots was an incredibly gorgeous, kind-hearted, and talented fellow photographer, named Brit Mann and her charming and helpful photo-assisting husband, Grant. They are expecting the arrival of what-is-sure-to-be an amazingly gorgeous baby girl. I felt really honored to photograph them during such a special time.

This set has such a sincere/honest feel to them. Love the colors, the light and the couple! The mom honestly looks radiant.

I had so much fun shooting in New York. I photographed a bunch of wonderful families (more images to come) and met with a soon-to-be associate photographer for Modern Kids. Her name is Kara and she is so utterly fantastic! A perfect match for our company. More on Kara soon…
