see you at Alt // Altitude Design Summit, January 18-21, 2012

Hey there! I’m excited to tell you that I’m speaking at Alt this year. I went to this conference last year and absolutely loved it. It’s not really geared towards photographers actually and that’s partly why I wanted to go – sometimes we photographers need a break from the insularity of the photo world. I...

Sarah - Hillary! It’s totally awesome for someone just like you. Actually, you would probably get more value out of it than an experienced blogger. There are lots of basics of blogging classes related to getting sponsors, ethical posting, even photo classes, etc. It’s a ton of fun. If you want to go you could room with me! Let me know asap though. Also, we were literally (awake) in Chicago for about eight hours. We just stopped in to see a new baby girl and had lunch then boarded another plane to the east coast. I didn’t even get to see my Chicago bestie who I haven’t seen in a year! Sorry bud, next time we are there longer you will be the first to know!

Hillary - Is Alt. just for people already doing / pursuing blogging or small businesses? I’m currently just a fan-girl of all of the people who’d be attending. I craft and design as much as most of them – I just don’t put fingers to keyboard…yet.

I’m wondering if I’d be way out of place or if it’d be inspirational and educational. (not sure I can afford it, anyway…)

p.s. you didn’t call when you were here. BOO.

Happy Friday to you!

We had an amazingly gorgeous day today in SF. I hope you had a beautiful day, too. I had a quick lunch with old friends near Chinatown so I popped over there for a few minutes to grab some tea. Even though we live about 2 miles from Chinatown I’m not often there. It’s such...

Behind the scenes with MilK Magazine, Paris // kids fashion magazine

Happy Friday to you. I’m really excited about this post. I hope you like it. I remember the first time I saw MilK Magazine. It was about four years ago and I was in my local coffee shop – that incidentally has an incredible collection of international magazines. Something caught my eye on the very...

erika verginelli - Hi Sarah! Thanks ;-) Ah, the video is the “making of” of an editorial that I shot recently! I didn’t produce it, it was a video producer, partner of mine. The complete editorial will be soon on the blog. I’m enjoying shooting editorials, it’s fun right! ;-) This one is my fav so far: http://www.erikaverginelliblog.com/2011/06/editorial-de-moda-revista-pais-filhos.html and the video is out of this world! I love it: http://www.erikaverginelliblog.com/2011/05/um-segredo-guardado-a-7-chaves.html

Sarah - Thanks for the reply, Erika! I just checked the links and they work but perhaps they don’t work because you are in a different language. I used the google translate links. Hmm…Let me find the links for you, sorry! Again, thanks for the comment and lovely work. Your ‘rock around the clock’ video is cute!

Sarah - It is a small staff by our standards. I think we’d have more magazines in business if they paired down a bit. ;)

July 1, 2011 - 1:12 pm

Miz Booshay - What a fantastic article. Such a professional magazine with only 12 people on staff. That is astonding. That would never fly in the states. Right?
Beautiful pictures and wonderful questions!!!
Thanks!
