I haven’t gotten permission yet to share the entire shoot so here’s one quick one for you. There’s a baby back there, I promise. Hope you’re all enjoying the weekend. Here in California the weather is so incredibly gorgeous. I cannot wait for daylight savings time to begin…more hours in the day to shoot!

Lovely=)  As some of you may know I was out of town unexpectedly for six weeks with my husband and his family in Illinois. We recently got back to San Francisco and I’m officially back to work full-time. I won’t elaborate on our time there, just to say that we lost a truly incredible woman to cancer and I wouldn’t have traded those six weeks for anything. I admire my husband and his sister more than I could imagine. We’ve been reminded of all the blessings in our lives and one of those things is my job and the incredible people I get to meet. by Sarah 1 comment

Can’t wait to see the rest!!  Hello again. I’m sitting in my sister-in-law’s house in Southern Illinois, having finally come up for air after an incredibly busy season. Thanks again to all of the amazing families and kids I worked with this year. I can’t believe the year went by so quickly. It was my first full year in business and it was way more exciting, challenging, chaotic, and fun than I could have ever imagined. I re-branded in the beginning of the year to Modern Kids Photography, got a tiny but totally sufficient studio of my own, worked with tons of great assistants, spent long nights in the studio (apologies to my husband), and had so much fun photographing all of the country. Wow – amazing shots! Eve is so expressive and I continue to be blown away by your ability to magically capture all these great moments in peoples’ lives…  Enjoy a few of my favs from a recent belly + baby session with two wonderful, soon-to-be parents Allison + Keith. We started at their lovely home in Potrero Hill then took a little stroll around our shared neighborhood. The early morning light was perfect. Wow. Simply stunning.  This weekend I was reminded how much I like simple, straight portraits. No fancy angles, clever props or juxtapositions, just pure, simple, straight portraits. I should say it helps to have a subject who is incredibly natural in front of the camera. Allison and her husband Keith were just that. I rarely had to ask them to do anything and shooting in the comfort of their gorgeously lit home made it even easier. by Sarah 2 comments
