I’m playing catch-up after a few days out of the studio. Enjoy a quick sneak-peek from a recent shoot of two awesome kids in Orinda, CA.

Hi there!
It’s been a busy week. I’m in LA photographing kids in the Modern Family Zone of the Dwell on Design conference. If you’re headed to the event, please stop by! My friend Stephanie Howard and I are photographing kids all weekend long. We’re lucky to be next to great companies such as Paul Frank...
Ohhh!!! That’s so fabulous, Sarah! By the way…aren’t you due in Chicago soon? Or did I miss you?
Sarah! This is so awesome!! Congrats and enjoy your weekend in LA.
Greetings Modern Kids Photography,
My family and I were at the 2010 Dwell on Design conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday and were photographed. Where would we be able to see our pictures?
Thank you,
Javier Sáenz
Thanks for taking my son’s photo at the Dwell on Design! It was really fun and nice to see you. The event was awesome! so inspiring and beautiful.
Hi Kiko!
Thank you for participating! We had such a fantastic time. We’ll have images available early next week. Please stay tuned!
Thanks, Javier! It was great to meet you and your family. We’ll have images early next week!
Hey Anna! I’ll be in Chicago at the end of this month. I’m not shooting much on that trip, however. I’d love to say hello!

Spring is on my mind today despite the dreary and wet weather we’ve been having here in San Francisco. I love this paper cut flowers found over on Martha’s site. They’d be great for a spring bbq or baby shower.

I love these pom poms! I bought a bunch to hang at our wedding, but never got around to it and I’ve been threatening Matt that I’m going to hang them all over the house one day to surprise him.
you should totally do it. he might not notice, tara!
see you in just over a month birthday girl!
love martha! these would be cute for a summer get together!
So colorful, easy, and inexpensive – definitely great for a Summer party. Thanks for the comment, Whitney.

Wow. I’m really enjoying reading about the family behind Sixx Design in NYC, found this morning via Liz Stanley. What amazing taste, beautiful kids, and lovely spaces they’ve created. Anyone who can have seven kids and survive several house renovations is my hero. These people must be super-human or just incredibly blessed. Oh and they just published a book, see it here.
I grabbed a few images from the recent New York Times article, click here to read it and listen to the audio slideshow, photography by Michael Weschler. I love that the home has a wonderful balance between the adult world and the world of kids. I would love to spend the day photographing those beautiful kids!

Happy Monday, everyone! I have newborns on my mind because I’m waiting on three of them to arrive this month…so very exciting. Therefore I thought I’d share a fun nursery room via one of my favorite design/kid/family blogs, Ohdeedoh. You can see the full post on this clever and well-designed room over on their blog here.
Enjoy + stay tuned for some recent shoots!
