Stella McCartney Kids Spring/Summer Collection 2011 // kids fashion

I love everything Stella McCartney does for kids. Have you seen her Spring/Summer Collection for kids yet? She believes in making clothes that are fun and non-restrictive for little ones (kids everywhere can appreciate that). She uses the best color palettes; so bright and fresh.  I wish I could squeeze into a few of these...

Janine - I absolutely love her line for kids. There’s a few things I want to buy for my nieces lol.

unique collage paintings by The Giharakeitarou // inspiration, painting

These are sweet and kids would love them. I just discovered the work of The Giharakeitarou on the Japanese website Gallery Speak For. The have a unique selection of paintings, drawings, clothing, goods, and books. If you don’t read Japanese make sure you view through Google translate. p.s. If you’re in San Francisco or planning...

Sarah - Thanks, Hillary. It’s always good to know what worked for people. I’m also printing a bunch of articles from the NYTimes…feels like something my dad would do. ;)

Hillary - These are my favorites (although I do like wallpaper): http://eatshopguides.com/buy/

The Paris one is from June of last year.

I also like this series: http://www.thamesandhudsonusa.com/series/stylecity.htm

But I think THAT Paris one is from ’08 – way old.

Experiencing magazine content on the ipad, props to Martha Stewart // technology

Last night I experienced the Martha Stewart ipad app and was really surprised how different the experience was compared to other magazines and periodicals with apps. I was continually delighted by the experience and I find it interesting that I was surprised. I suppose it’s because other apps have fallen short of expectations. Here are...

Sarah - I’m glad someone else agrees with me. I’ve been thinking about it a lot these days. Thanks for the comment, Jen!

Jen Lavelle - I completely agree with you! I love the M.S. app — the design is extremely clean and easy to use. Thumbs up for Martha and her digital staff.

three fun growth charts // modern kids products

I was going through a stack of collateral from last year’s ABC Kids Show and I was reminded of this great kids company in California called Pincushion. They have some fun growth charts and I love the diy pillows. I thought I’d throw together a quick post of three modern growth charts. What do you...

Sarah - Thanks for the comment, James. I also like the idea of the door jam. Especially in big families. It’s fun to have that history.

April 7, 2011 - 10:00 pm

james - as much as I love these, there is something iconic and comforting about the pencil and door jamb. It’s kinda nice to realize the door jamb isn’t going anywhere soon.

Sarah - Thanks for the comment, Tais. I see so many great kids products but I always wonder which ones get used. I love your idea that the heirloom one could be extended through a few generations. I love the simplicity of that one. Thanks for the comment!

Tais - We have the Heirloom growth chart. I thought it would be a really special thing to save for my son. Not only can we use it for him, but hopefully one day he can add extra pins for his kids too. We also mark the wall in his bedroom at grandma & grandpa’s house – because there’s nothing quite like walking into your old room and seeing that. best, Tais

Loog guitar // brilliant kids product

Stop me if Kickstarter is already on your radar. In a nutshell it’s a crowd-sourced funding platform for creative projects worldwide (pardon my buzz word). There are a ton of great projects you can help support like documentary films, artisanal food labels, or physical products. The site is really inspiring. Be sure to head over...
