I thought I’d share a few images of a wedding I shot in 2011. I don’t do weddings all that often – usually just by special request from a family member or an extra special friend. And perhaps because I shoot them so rarely I really fall in love with them. It’s a really challenging but rewarding day from the perspective of a photographer (lots of light and scenarios to master) and most importantly a front-row seat in what is such an important and magical moment in the loves of two people in love.

Here are a few film images from my cousin Liz’s wedding. It was late October and it was the first snow of the season. We were all in disbelief and even though her dreams of an outdoor wedding didn’t happen I think she still had a really gorgeous day. Don’t you?

I’ve been out of the studio for a few weeks and excited to get back to work. I’m so thrilled to have a new website and branding in the next month or so. I hope you’ll stay in touch. I’m sharing a bunch of new work with the launch as well. In the meantime, aren’t these prints so sweet? I saw the owner of Cuddlefish Press at the Renegade Craft Fair here in SF before the holidays. These prints are customizable with a baby’s name or another message. I picked one up for my dear niece, Lydia. I can’t wait to see it.

Hey there. I wish I could share more from this shoot but need to hold off a bit longer. I’m just loving the results though and I can’t say enough good things about being patient and shooting film (when you can). It’s really magical.

We had an exciting weekend photographing at a gorgeous ranch in Healdsburg, CA. Thanks to the Warnecke Ranch for hosting the crew. We’ll have more to come from this shoot soon, including a behind-the-scenes video!

I’m excited to tell you that I’m speaking at Alt this year. I went to this conference last year and absolutely loved it. It’s not really geared towards photographers actually and that’s partly why I wanted to go – sometimes we photographers need a break from the insularity of the photo world. I learned so much about my business, felt incredibly inspired, and I made many a million great connections. I would encourage everyone from bloggers to photographers to small-business owners to consider attending. You can sign up here.

I’m on a panel about blogging ethics and will be speaking from a photographer’s vantage. I’ll also be hanging with the Visual Supply Co. team who are currently tearing it up with my rebrand. We’re launching just before Alt (fingers crossed)!

We’ve been busy doing lots of holiday shoots, some fun lifestyle shoots, and I’m producing a gigantic ranch shoot this Sunday in Healdsburg. I can hardly wait! Oh and did I mention we’ve got a fun event coming up with Heath Ceramics in Sausalito and Los Angeles – don’t miss this!

Also, we brought back mini-sessions for a limited time only. I’ll be posting a few more details but essentially these are 30 minutes sessions, perfect for holiday cards and gifts and we’re doing both on-location (Golden Gate Park and Crissy Field) as well as in-studio at a really great price! It’s been busy over here. I’m so excited for SEEING SMALL coming up in just a few weeks. I’m also moving studios, producing a few quick kids shoots, and working on a redesign – lots of fun stuff.
