A big thank you to Cathy, Robin, Adam and the rest of the Heath Ceramics gang in Sausalito and Los Angeles. We always have so much fun hanging out and doing the annual photobooths. Also, a big thanks to all the kids and families who participated. I’ll have the gallery up tomorrow evening – just in time to share with friends and family over Thanksgiving.

We had an exciting weekend photographing at a gorgeous ranch in Healdsburg, CA. Thanks to the Warnecke Ranch for hosting the crew. We’ll have more to come from this shoot soon, including a behind-the-scenes video!

In the meantime, come visit us this Sunday, November 20th from 1-3pm at Heath Ceramics in Sausalito and Los Angeles. We have so much fun doing these totally free photo booths with Heath. It’s been a busy week. I’m in LA photographing kids in the Modern Family Zone of the Dwell on Design conference. If you’re headed to the event, please stop by! My friend Stephanie Howard and I are photographing kids all weekend long. We’re lucky to be next to great companies such as Paul Frank and IdeaPaint, not to mention Greg Fleishman’s Playgoda and tons of great kid’s furniture.

For those who want a keepsake of the weekend, Modern Kids Photography will be on hand for a permanent memento of your little one’s personality. San Francisco-based Sarah Wert is known for her insightful style that brings a keen photojournalism eye to children’s portraiture. Wert and her team of photographers will shoot a mini-portrait of your mini-me from 11am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Secondly, I wanted to thank my husband Joe for being the Modern Kids Thank You Picnic MVP. He not only helped out all day including setting up and tearing down but also created some really awesome stuff for our party. He made me custom sandwich boards (which I painted with chalkboard paint) to help steer people our way as well as my absolute favorite gift of the day, custom camera necklaces for the kids. I hope everyone who stopped by was able to take one home. Rod Hunting an awesome designer in Chicago made the drawings. We had two kinds an old twin lens reflex Mamiya and a Holga. They were laser-cut out of a really nice brown/gray mat board and he even included my website on the front, how clever. The only problem with them was that many of the babies were disappointed to find out that they were not edible. Perhaps next year we’ll try chocolate. Seriously, though thanks to my awesome husband!

Also, a big thanks goes to everyone who helped make it such a fun day including Bess, Camille, and Caleb for showing up early and helping us set up. To Eugenia, Lisa, and Sara for their mad party-planning skills (and Sara’s mustache making abilities). To Darach for the use of his van. Milton for the table and Eugenia’s family for the table and canopy. Finally to Nate for making our party even better with his sweet tunes. And last but not least everyone who provided prizes for our picnic including Heath Ceramics, Dante Beatrix, FilmMonsters, Petit Appetit, and more…thank you all!
