Some days I feel a little overworked and overwhelmed running my own business. I’m a bit of a one-man-band with the help periodically of some really wonderful people (my husband, awesome assistants, fellow photographers, designers, SEO mavens, html geniuses, copy-editors, etc.). Are you surprised how many people you need to run a little business like mine? I am!
Nonetheless, the very best part of my job is meeting so many great families. Case in point about a month ago I got an email from a woman in Washington D.C.. She was interested in setting up a portrait session with her family in San Francisco over the Labor Day weekend. Oh, and the baby happens to be the Great-granddaughter of the actual Gerber baby (read more here). Yep, that ridiculously adorable baby that has been the official trademark of Gerber since 1931. The baby who has caused thousands of amateur baby contests and is probably the most recognizable baby, ever. Yep, that one. I was so thrilled to say the least.
I finally got to meet baby Cora Margarita and the rest of the family in Bernal Heights on Labor Day morning. We took a little family hike over Bernal Hill and then made our way back home for some backyard fun. I had such a great time during this shoot. Definitely one of my favorites sessions all year. Check out some behind the scene images below, courtesy of Jan Cook. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many assistants on one shoot.
Thanks to Jan and the rest of the family, especially Cora for such a lovely morning!
